We joyfully introduce Carmen Marta Castañeda Moore, born at home in the early morning of June 6.Carmen measured 50 centimeters long and weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces, with the fat rolls to prove it.
Mother and daughter are doing very well. Carla gave birth in less than five hours using only a tens machine, rescue spray and a wet towel. She certainly put the rrrrr back into birth. The midwives, Ann and Rose, provided good guidance and support during and after the birth.
Our two-year-old, Maya, is adjusting well enough, with kisses, hugs and lots of cooing around her baby sister.
Peter will be home from work for a week. Carla is happy to have guests. Food, toddler playmates, dish washing experts are most welcome. Call ahead and let us know. The post-natal hungers have arrived in all their fierce wonder.
Thanks to the many friends and family members who have helped us settle into our new place, we are well provided for. On gifts, it is best to give us a call before giving. Carmen has telepathically communicated her dislike for pink. (Who knew?)
Thank you for your support and many acts of friendship. We look forward to having you meet Carmen in good time. We have attached a photo
Love,
Carla, Peter, Maya and Carmen
